Peruca Restaurant
Local cuisine in San Gimignano
It all began in the 1990s, when Fabio Pernarella and Lidia Rugi, driven by a great love for cooking, decided to venture into this wonderful world. Our cuisine is the expression of a unique territory : Tuscany, and San Gimignano in particular.
Researching, showcasing, and showcasing local products and varieties is our mission. Ristorante Perucà's dishes are born from the dedication and passion of chef Axel Caldani, supported by sous chef Alfredo Latteo. Together, they bring a breath of freshness and creativity , blending tradition and innovation to offer an unforgettable culinary experience.
We invite you to discover the authentic flavors of our land, in a welcoming and familiar atmosphere.
We look forward to welcoming you!

In the heart of San Gimignano
Among vineyards and wheat fields, stands the beautiful city of San Gimignano , declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in December 1990. Its unmistakable towers dominate a landscape that deserves more than one visit to discover it. Our restaurant is located in Via Capassi 16 , in one of the oldest buildings in the city, adjacent to Via S. Matteo , one of the most characteristic and important streets of the historic center: walking along it means taking a dive into the past of over seven hundred years, with its splendid medieval buildings and typical tower houses.
Here, you can discover and savor the most authentic and genuine Tuscany, a place where tradition is still strongly anchored to the territory and where it is possible to fully appreciate the unique taste of one of the most appreciated cuisines in Italy.

Vernaccia in the world
The product that, more than any other, can tell the story of San Gimignano in the world is Vernaccia , the excellent white wine made from vines grown on the hills surrounding the village. A wine that has the honour of being the first Italian wine to receive the DOC designation back in 1966 and the only Tuscan DOCG dedicated to a white wine.
